Studio PHH designs new residences from the ground up, siting and shaping each house so that architecture, interior, and landscape arrive as one, whether on a lake in New Jersey, among firs in the Pacific Northwest, or on a beach in Baja.
Informed by the site
A ground-up house begins with its land. Studio PHH studies the site, the orientation, the views, and the way light and weather move across it, then shapes the plan, the structure, and the materials to suit, so the finished house belongs where it stands.
Architecture leads, and it carries through into the interiors and custom furniture, drawn alongside the building rather than added later, so the house reads as a single idea from the ground to the last detail.

From the first sketch to the last detail
A ground-up house is a long undertaking. Studio PHH stays close from the first study of the site through construction, holding the design intact as decisions about detail and cost are made on site.
Because many of these houses sit on rural or distant sites, the studio plans around access, logistics, and building at a distance, and remains involved so what was drawn is what gets built.
